What began from a few guys that DROVE OLD BEATERS putting on a Free Show to see IF ANYONE ELSE drove BEATERS (that was BEFORE the term RAT ROD was born), turned into “THE” KUSTOM KULTURE EVENT on the EAST COAST! Yeah, WE DON’T CARE HOW THEY DO IT in CALI, TX, UK or ANYWHERE ELSE: the EAST COAST is the MOSTEST! All the GREAT PEOPLE, CARS, BANDS, ARTISTS, GREASY GUYS, KOOL KITTENS that attended the last DECADE of the HRHD are WHAT MAKES IT HAPPEN! UNLIKE the “EXCLUSIVE” (sometimes myopic) SHOWS that are out there; the HRHD is “INCLUSIVE”! If YOU have a GOOD ATTITUDE, COOL KAR, and a SENSE OF HUMOR and FUN, a LOVE FOR KUSTOM KULTURE / MUSIC / CARS / etc., THEN YOU ARE WELCOME with open arms. BAD ATTITUDES / JUDGEMENTAL or CLOSED MINED CLYDES, SQUARES and CRYBABIES, STAY HOME or go to one of the boring, bumper watcher shows. When the HOTROD HOEDOWN began 10 YEARS ago, there were NO other shows like it on the EAST COAST. Our Pals: then KARB KINGS, the ROAD AGENTS started at the same time and then the RUMBLERS, the SO WHAT (Jalopy Showdown) followed making a scene on the EAST COAST, that has NOW blown up to include many smaller and fun events. Check them all out and SUPPORT the SCENE in your area and across the EAST COAST! The HOTROD HOEDOWN is the GRAND BIG DADDY of the RAT ROD / KUSTOM KULTURE SCENE, and has been a CATALYST for many. Bringing NEW people into the Hobby, starting folks out on their Car Collecting Journey. Exposing many BANDS, ARTISTS, MERCANTS to a cross section of folks; young/old/male/female/interested/curious/etc. We hope to GROW and CHANGE with YOU, and bring NEW IDEAS, CARS, FUN to the HOTROD HOEDOWN in the upcoming years!
THIS YEAR the HRHD will be held on SEPT 11/12.13, FRIDAY NIGHT, SAT + SUNDAY!!! The NEW LOCATION: ADVENTURELAND is a PICNIC CAMP that has been family owned and run since 1962, and offers a beautiful lush setting, plus ACTIVITIES for the whole family, including Paddle Boats, Playground, Putt-Putt Golf, and camping is available!
